M&A IT Integration Project Manager

As an M&A IT Integration Project Manager, you will lead the IT integration of mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs and divestments across the EMEA region for a global market leader in chemical and ingredients distribution.

You will own the end-to-end IT integration journey — from understanding the M&A pipeline and planning resources, through due diligence and Day 1 readiness, to the full integration of acquired businesses into the target IT environment and operating model.

This is a central role in an ongoing M&A strategy, working closely with the Regional PMO, Corporate M&A, IT Business Partners and IT teams across the organization to ensure newly acquired businesses are integrated efficiently, securely and consistently.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• IT Integration Leadership: Own the end-to-end IT integration of M&A transactions, including acquisitions, carve-outs and divestments across EMEA.
• Partner with the Corporate M&A team throughout the deal lifecycle, from pipeline and due diligence through Day 1 and post-merger integration.
• Budget Ownership: Create, manage and execute M&A integration budgets, including forecasting, cost control and reporting.
• Process Design & Standardization: Design and implement an end-to-end integration process connecting business and IT, establishing standardized approaches across applications, processes, infrastructure and ways of working.
• Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Corporate M&A, Regional PMO, IT Business Partners, IT leadership and external advisors to align priorities, resources and execution.
• Contract Management: Manage IT contracts within each M&A transaction, including review, transition, renegotiation and exit.
• Governance & Reporting: Ensure integrations comply with IT governance, security, data protection and procurement standards.
• Provide regular integration status reporting, risks, dependencies and financial updates to IT leadership.
• Coordinate with IT teams on application, infrastructure, network and security provisioning and associated costs.
• Drive the transition of acquired companies towards a common target operating and technology model.

Your Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in project or programme management, including proven experience leading IT M&A integration, carve-out or divestment projects.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end M&A lifecycle and the role of IT within it.
• Experience with due diligence, Day 1 planning, post-merger integration and Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs).
• Proven experience creating, managing and executing complex project or integration budgets.
• Strong ability to design and implement processes that connect business and IT.
• Solid IT contract-management experience, including contract review, transition, renegotiation and exit.
• Broad understanding of IT across applications, infrastructure, networks and security.
• Experience coordinating complex IT provisioning, dependencies and costs across multiple teams.
• ERP/SAP integration experience is a strong plus.
• Proven ability to drive standardization across acquired companies and align them with a target operating and technology model.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders across business, M&A, IT and external advisory organizations.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
• Experience in chemical distribution or another complex global distribution environment is a plus.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken. Additional European languages are an advantage.
